Do you need to be tested for work, travel, or just peace of mind? Barrow Safety can now provide a qualified healthcare professional to administer covid-19 tests. These tests can be completed whether you are symptomatic or asymptomatic with an average turnaround time of 48 hours. **If you have severe symptoms, please contact Alberta Health Services.**
This test has been approved for travel, but it is the responsibility of the traveller to be aware of their destination's covid requirements. If you are preparing to travel you will need to schedule your test 72 hours BEFORE your flight. You will also be required to bring your passport to your appointment.
*If you have been directly exposed to someone with covid-19 - you are required to wait 5 DAYS from point of contact before you can be tested.*
An appointment is required to provide proper safety measures for everyone. Covid-19 (PCR) appointments can NOT be booked after 3:00PM, to ensure same day shipping.
Masks are MANDATORY and are to be worn properly throughout your visit with us.
Rapid antigen tests are commonly used in the diagnosis of respiratory illnesses. In this case, the rapid antigen detection test looks for proteins produced by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which is the virus that causes the disease called COVID-19.
This is NOT an Antibody Test. Antibody testing, also known as serology testing, is usually done after full recovery from COVID-19. A health care professional takes a blood sample, usually by a finger prick or by drawing blood from a vein in the arm. Then the sample is tested to determine whether you've developed antibodies against the virus. The immune system produces these antibodies — proteins that are critical for fighting and clearing out the virus.
Please complete a Covid-19 Symptom Checklist provided by AHS, before calling to book an Antigen Test. If you have severe symptoms and/or have been in direct contact with a positive case, please contact Alberta Health Services for testing.
With rapid antigen testing, the test is completed by taking a nasal collection. You should see results within 15 minutes.
Please call the office if you would like to book an appointment. Masks are mandatory during your visit with us.
